An audience at a performance

Programming decisions

It may be that you provide assisted performances of all your shows. If not, decisions will need to be made as to which shows will be captioned, which audio described and which interpreted. Even if every show is captioned, described and interpreted, decisions will need to be made as to which specific performances will have these services, for example: matinee or evening, how many, which day of the week, will all services happen at different performances or the same ones, and will the captioner and audio describer have adequate time to prepare?

These decisions must be informed by relationships with D/deaf, blind and partially sighted people, and with other local arts organisations. For example, it would be counter-productive to programme assisted performances in competition with others happening close by.
