An audience at a performance

Prepping captioners, describers and interpreters

To do a good job, captioners and describers need a script and a dvd of the show so that they can prepare a script. The script will need to be in electronic format and available for the captioner or describer at a time to suit them but at least a month before the performance. They will also need to see the show at least twice in advance of the show so tickets must be made available.

An interpreter will need a script, a dvd, and will ideally attend at least one rehearsal and talk to the Director. They will certainly need to be involved in a tech rehearsal in order to ensure that the lighting and sight lines work effectively. They will also need to see the show before delivering.
